Fish of the week

Lagniappe! On a windy day of tarpon fishing, we sought relief in Key West Harbor. Although the bulk of Permit are off spawning in deeper water until later this summer, it is not uncommon to encounter singles, doubles and triples of these hard fighting game fish and they are often tankers. Floating a live blue crab for tarpon, Angler Richard Black of Wilmington, NC got a very pleasant surprise when this 30 pound beauty of a Permit decided to eat his tarpon bait.
